Vote science!

Eureka Live

The gates are open and the race has started. In a month’s time, we’ll be going to the polls to make our decisions about who to trust with the country’s economy, defence and social policy. But what about science? At Eureka Live this Thursday, Wellcome Collection and The Times invite you to join a panel of experts to debate the key issues at stake for science in the forthcoming election.

We’re very pleased that Brian Cox, Royal Society University Research Fellow and presenter of the BBC’s Wonders of the Solar System is on the panel, joined by Alom Shaha, science teacher, film-maker and writer; Gabrielle Walker, broadcaster and co-author of The Hot Topic; and Director of the Wellcome Trust, Sir Mark Walport.

We’ll be taking questions from the floor on everything from healthcare and the environment to educating young scientists, and hope to have a lively discussion. To make sure we have a good night we need your questions to be at the heart of it. What is at stake for science in what could be the the closest election in decades? What would you like to ask our experts?

The event is free and tickets are still available so book now if you’d like to come along.

If you can’t be there (or you’re shy), and have a question that you’d like to be asked on the night, leave a comment blog below. We’ll pick the best and ask the panel on the night. Alternatively, if you’re on Twitter, you can post a question there, using the hashtag #EurekaLive.
